However, you may not be aware that some of these foods actually contain sugar that isn\u2019t in as little a quantity as you imagined. Yes, you\u2019ll find sugar even in foods that are tagged \u201chealthy\u201d. Here are a few examples &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few examples &#8211;<\/p>\n<h2>Granola<\/h2>\n<p>People have always associated Granola as being a health food item and granola bars as a quick fix solution to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adityabirlacapital.com\/healthinsurance\/active-together\/2017\/06\/15\/top-7-energy-boosting-foods\/\">boosting energy levels<\/a>. Essentially, it is considered a healthy food. That isn\u2019t exactly untrue and depends on the brand, in some cases. That being said, some of these instant energy bars can contain up to 26 grams of sugar, per serving. That\u2019s certainly not what the doctor ordered. The solution, go with protein-rich nuts like \u2013 Almonds, Peanuts, Pecans and sunflower seeds. These are great for the whole family and will ensure they always have enough energy to stay active.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-63551 size-full aligncenter lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.adityabirlacapital.com\/healthinsurance\/active-together\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/foods-with-sugar-granola.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 800px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 800\/530;\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Fruit Juice<\/h2>\n<p>Fruits are healthy, as is, naturally, it makes sense for one to assume that the juice of these fruits is the same. And in most cases it is\u00a0unless you prefer off-the-shelf options. Don\u2019t be fooled by the \u201c100% Natural\u201d \u201cNo Sugar\u201d labelling on the packs, they\u2019re often quite inaccurate. The last thing you want is for your child to get into the habit of sipping on those Tetra-packed juices. A good old fashioned fruit with all its fibre and roughage is the best for their health and yours too. Even freshly squeezed orange juice, while crammed with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adityabirlacapital.com\/healthinsurance\/active-together\/2023\/03\/02\/orange-benefits\/\">vitamin C<\/a>, folate and Potassium, is high in sugar with and lacking in fibre. While there\u2019s no doubt it&#8217;s considered to be low in calories, buying off-the-shelf may not be a great idea. Some brands include sugar which adds to the existing natural sugar (lactose) that\u2019s found in milk. They make great snacks and additions to those weight-loss salads. However, these are not as sugar-free as some of its compatriots. A handful of cranberries consists of 26 grams of sugar. That\u2019s quite a bit. The signs, names and labels can often be quite misleading.
