Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS)

A new facility in accordance with the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (“Scheme”) is launched by NCGTC (National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd., Ministry of Finance, Government of India). Under the Scheme, an additional loan upto 20% of the outstanding as on 29th Feb 2020 can be extended, which facility will be valid for a period of 4 years with a 12-month principal moratorium.

This loan offer is subject to you complying with the following additional requirements, as specified under the Scheme:

About the ECLGS Scheme

  • Annual turnover of the entity for the Financial year 2019-20 is not greater than Rs. 100 Cr.
  • Overall fund based outstanding credit with all banks/NBFCs/FIs as on 29th Feb 2020 is not greater than Rs. 25 Cr.
  • No overdues beyond 60 days, across all banks/NBFCs/FIs as on 29th Feb 2020.
  • Availability of a valid GST registration, unless exempted.

Scheme Details:

Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) 5.0 is a scheme launched by the Government of India to provide credit guarantee coverage for MSMEs (100%) and non MSMEs as well as scheduled passenger airline (referred hereinafter as airline sector (90%), to Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) for the amount in default under additional credit facility extended to the eligible borrowers to tide over any short-term liquidity mismatches in view of West Asia crisis.

Purpose of the Scheme:

Scheme seeks to extend critical support to borrowers by incentivizing Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) to provide additional working capital term loan for business purposes, thereby enabling them to navigate the prevailing economic challenges more effectively.

Eligible Borrowers under ECLGS 5.0

MSMEs / Non-MSMEs (Except Airline Sector)

  • All business enterprises, including MSMEs, having fund-based working capital limits from Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) as on 31.03.2026.
  • The borrower's credit facilities should be categorized as "Standard" (excluding SMA-2) as on 31.03.2026.
  • Borrowers who have already availed an additional credit facility under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE) are not eligible under the ECLGS scheme up to the limit already availed under CGSE.

For Airline Sector (For the purpose of the scheme, to be read as scheduled passenger airline sector)

  • Business enterprises in the scheduled passenger airline sector having outstanding credit facilities (both fund-based and non-fund-based) from Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) as on 31.03.2026.
  • The borrower's credit facilities should be categorized as "Standard" (excluding SMA-2) as on 31.03.2026.
