Medical Examination for Buying Postal Life Insurance Policy
If you wish to buy a postal life insurance policy under the physically handicapped scheme, you must compulsorily undergo a medical examination at a government-authorised medical centre. The objective of the test is to determine the nature and extent of the handicap. The medical report lists the following details:
- The reason for handicap (whether the disability is congenital or post-congenital)
- The impact of the disability on the individual and its correlation to the longevity of life.
- The report must also quantify the extent of the disability. If the medical reports state that the nature of the disability poses a risk to the individual’s life, the policy can be rejected.
