There is another way to clear payment. The complete process is described below:
- Step 1: Open the official website of the Sales Tax Portal of GRAS (Government Receipt Accounting System) and choose your tax type.
- Step 2: Give Taxpayer Identification Number, i.e. TIN. It is a 12-digit combination for PTRC and an 11-digit one for PTEC.
- Step 3: Click on the ‘Submit’ button. Next, provide all necessary information like employer name, mobile number, office address, etc.
- Step 4: Select the payment type and the payment period after the ID is generated automatically.
- Step 5: Enter all details related to payment and then choose the ‘Proceed’ option.
- Step 6: A payment summary will be displayed. Recheck all details and click on ‘OK’ if everything seems correct.
- Step 7: A government Reference number will be generated. Choose ‘OK’ to navigate to the bank’s website. Make the payment here.
- Step 8: On successful payment, a receipt will be generated. Save this for future reference.
Due Date for Paying Professional Tax in Maharashtra
In Maharashtra, the due date for professional tax payments is dependent on the enrolment date.
