Blood Pressure Calculator

It is the force that moves blood through our circulatory system. The reading is recorded with 2 numbers- systolic (upper value) that is the pressure exerted by the blood against the artery wall when your heart beats, and diastolic (lower value) - the pressure exerted by the blood against the artery wall when the heart is at rest between beats. The unit measured in is millimeters of mercury (mmHg). Blood pressure readings occasionally fluctuate according to your hearts needs depending on your activity level; however, high blood pressure over an extended period of time is one of the risk factors for heart disease.

Your blood pressure is normal. Even if you do not see or feel any symptoms of elevated blood pressure, it is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle in today's day and age. Get yourself checked regularly, quit smoking, practice deep breathing or meditate, limit alcohol consumption, reduce intake of caffeine and sodium, & exercise regularly.

Your blood pressure is elevated. If you are diagnosed with high blood pressure, be compliant with your medications. Here are some other tips to reduce your blood pressure, eat a low-salt diet, consume more fruits, vegetables and whole grains, manage stress and anxiety, and exercise at least 5 days a week for 30 minutes.

If your reading is >140/100 wait for 5 minutes and try again. If it is still elevated you may want to see your doctor to adjust your medication dosage. Monitor for signs and symptoms such as severe headache, shortness of breath, chest pain, back pain, or numbness/weakness.

The calculation is not to be taken as a diagnostic result. Though verified by ABHI experts, for your best wellbeing, you may keep it across with your doctors or healthcare professionals.
