What You Should Know:

Staying Hydrated in Summer

Activ Living in summer could mean sweating it out and getting dehydrated. It is not enough to just drink lots of water but to also replenish the electrolytes lost through sweating. The perfect summer drinks are the ones that keep you hydrated, are packed with nutrients, and also help lower your body temperature to its optimal state. So, why not try these great summer cooler recipes to stay hydrated even on the hottest days?

Summer Cooler Recipes:

Paan Cooler

This simple but flavourful recipe can lower body temperature so that you feel cool inside and out. The greens are loaded with antioxidants and of course the water helps quench your thirst.

In a blender add a few paan leaves, mint leaves, 1 tablespoon jaggery syrup, 2 pods of cardamom, 1 tablespoon fennel seeds. To this you need to add one glass of water and blend well. Strain the juice into a glass and add one spoon of sabja (sweet basil) seeds. Stir the seeds into the summer juice and enjoy the refreshing and cooling drink.

Sattu Cooler

Sattu is a flour made from pulses and is rich in plant protein. This sattu cooler not only refreshes and hydrates you but also gives you a nutrition boost. The sattu cooler can be a great drink to have before and after a workout.

In the blender add 1 tablespoon of sattu powder, few curry leaves, a handful of fresh coriander leaves, salt to taste, cumin powder, and a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon/lime juice. To this add a glass of water and blend well. The sattu cooler is ready, pour into a glass, and enjoy. You can also add some ice if you like to have it cold.

These two summer coolers help you stay cool in the hot season in a healthy way. These coolers are so easy to make but taste so good and come with several benefits. Try them a few times a week and you will notice improvements in your digestion, your skin looking more radiant, and you will have more energy every day. It’s time for Activ Living in summer.
