
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made provisions for all employees to access their Provident Fund account online and manage it. It is mandatory to link your Aadhar number with your Universal Account Number (UAN) . This can easily be done either online or offline.
Linking EPF with Aadhaar Online
Step 1: Open the official EPFO Portal on your web browser. Step 2: Login to your EPF account using the UAN and your password. Step 3: Select MAnage in the top bar and choose KYC in the submenu. Step 4: You will then be redirected to a new page, where you can choose to link Aadhaar with your EPF account. Step 5: On the Add KYC page, choose ‘Aadhaar’ front the list of documents and enter your Aadhaar number and name. Click on the save option. Step 6: Your saved Aadhaar will then be verified from UIDAI’s data. Step 7: If the verification is successful, you’ll see a ‘Verified’ sign next to your Aadhar details on your EPF page.
Linking Aadhaar with EPF Offline
For people who do not have access to a computer or the internet, the EPFO has made provisions to link Aadhaar with EPF offline. Employees can visit the nearest EPFO office and submit the application in person. Step 1: Fill the ‘Aadhaar Seeding Application Form’. Step 2: Enter your UAN and Aadhaar number in the form, in addition to the other details. Step 3: Attach self-attested copies of your UAN, PAN and Aadhar along with the form. Step 4: Submit your form to the executive at the field offices of EPFO or Common Service Centres outlets. Step 5: Your form will be verified and when approved, your Aadhaar will be linked to your EPF account. Step 6: When this happens, you will receive a message on your registered mobile number, confirming the linking.
Link Aadhaar with EPF using Umang App
You can also link your Aadhaar with EPF using the UMANG app with the following steps: Step 1: Download the UMANG App from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store. Step 2: Enter your registered mobile number. Step 3: Login with ‘MPIN’ or using the OTP Login feature and click on ‘Continue’ Step 4: Enter the OTP you received on your mobile number. Step 5: Set the MPIN and login to the UMANG App. Step 6: Go into the ‘All Services’ Tab and choose ‘EPFO’ Step 7: Click on eKYC Services under the EPFO section Step 8: Select ‘Aadhaar Seeding’ Step 9: Enter your UAN and click on ‘Get OTP’ Step 10: Login using the same. Step 11: Enter Aadhaar Details Step 12: You will then receive another OTP on the number registered with Aadhaar. Step 13: Once the OTP verification is done, your Aadhaar will be linked to your UAN.
The EPFO has also made it possible to link Aadhaar with EPFO using the OTP method on eKYC Portal of EPFO. Follow the steps given below.
Step 1: Go to https://iwu.epfindia.gov.in/eKYC/ Step 2: Under EPFO Member, click on ‘Link UAN Aadhaar’ Step 3: Enter your UAN and registered mobile number to generate OTP Step 4: Enter the OTP in the Confirm OTP box. Step 5: Select your gender and enter Aadhaar Number. Step 6: Select ‘Using Mobile/Email based OTP’. Step 7: Enter the received OTP in the given box, enter the displayed ‘Captcha’ and click on Submit. Step 8: After verification, your Aadhaar and EPF will be linked.
Similarly, you can also use the eKYC portal of EPFO to link Aadhaar with EPF using biometric credentials.
Step 1: Visit https://iwu.epfindia.gov.in/eKYC/ Step 2: Click on Link UAN Aadhaar under EPFO Members Step 3: Enter UAN and registered mobile number to generate OTP Step 4: Confirm your OTP by entering it in the given box. Step 5: Select gender and enter your Aadhaar number. Step 6: Choose the option to do Aadhaar verification ‘Using Biometrics’. Step 7: Your biometrics will be captured using a registered biometric device. Step 8: Enter Captcha and hit ‘Submit’ Step 9: Your Aadhaar will be verified and linked to your EPF account subsequently.
How to find out if your Aadhaar is linked to your PF account
Step 1: Visit https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface Step 2: Enter your UAN and password to login to your EPF page. Step 3: In the Member Profile section, look for ‘Aadhaar’. Step 4: If there is a sign saying ‘Verified (Demographic) next to your Aadhaar number, then your Aadhaar has been linked with your EPF account successfully.
