  • Turmeric paste (200gms)
  • Jaggery (250gms)
  • Soaked raisins (50gms)
  • Ginger paste (50gms)
  • Ghee (150gms)
  • Clove 
  • Cardamom
  • Cinnamon

Method: 

Take a non-stick pan and add some ghee to it. Then add two cloves, one cardamom, and some cinnamon to the mixture. Now add the turmeric and ginger paste to the pan and mix well. Saute for three to four minutes, then add jaggery and soaked raisins to the pan, followed by half a cup of water. Mix well, simmer for twenty minutes, and your halwa is ready to serve.

Beetroot & Carrot Soup

Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons of oil
  • One bayleaf
  • One tablespoon cumin seeds
  • Two cloves of garlic (minced)
  • Small piece of ginger (5cm)
  • Two carrots (peeled and diced)
  • Three beetroots (peeled and diced)
  • Two green chillies 
  • Water (750ml)
  • Handful of coriander stalks
  • Salt

Method: 

In order to prepare the Beetroot and Carrot soup, first you need to heat oil in a pan, and add bayleaf, cumin, and garlic to it. Saute the mixture for a minute, add ginger, and saute the mix for another minute. Add carrot, beetroot, and green chillies to the pan; cook for five minutes. Pour in the water, along with coriander stalks, salt to taste, and heat until boiled. Simmer the ingredients until the beetroot and carrots are cooked properly. Adjust the seasoning and thickness of the mixture to your liking. Pour the puree through a sieve and check the seasoning to your taste again.
