Biometric Information
This includes scanning all your ten fingers. Make sure your hands are clean and wash them with water and soap, if needed. Follow the instructions as given and place your finger flat one after the other on the scanner.Your iris will be scanned too. Sit in a fixed position, keep your eyes wide open and look straight into the iris scanner. Don’t blink your eye during the iris capture.Also, you will be asked to sit with your back upright and face towards the camera for a photograph. In case you wear spectacles, take them off before the photograph.
Documents
A valid India Passport serves as your identity proof and is mandatory. If you require an address other than that mentioned in your passport, you will need to submit a valid address proof. As per the Aadhaar Act of 2016, an Indian resident is eligible to get an Aadhaar card. It defines a resident as an individual living in India for 182 days or more in the preceding 12 months.However, with the new Aadhaar Act in Jly 2019, being an Indian who resided for at least 182 days isnotapplicable for NRIs.

The acknowledgement slip that you receive at the Aadhaar enrolment centre bears a 14-digit enrolment number, date, and stamp. You can check if your Aadhaar is generated in these simple steps:
- Step 1: Visit myAadhaar website .
- Step 2: Click on the ‘Check Enrolment & Update Status’ option.
- Step 3: Enter the 14-digit enrolment number. It is mentioned at the top of your acknowledgement slip.
- Step 4: You may also mention the date and time mentioned on the acknowledgement slip. However, this is optional.
- Step 5: Enter the captcha code displayed on the screen.
- Step 6: Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
