Methods to Check Aadhaar Card Status Online

There are several ways to perform an Aadhaar card check online.

1. Access the UIDAI Portal

  • Visit the website: Go to the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
  • Navigate to "My Aadhaar": On the homepage, you'll likely find a section labelled "My Aadhaar." Click this link.
  • Select "Check Aadhaar Status": Within the "My Aadhaar" section, you'll see a dropdown menu. Choose "Check Aadhaar Status."
  • Enter Enrolment or SRN Details: You'll be directed to a page where you'll need to provide the necessary information to identify your Aadhaar application. Enter either your enrolment ID or the service request number (SRN).
  • Enrollment ID or Service Request Number (SRN) . This number would have been provided to you when you submitted your Aadhaar application.
  • Verify Captcha: As a security measure, you'll also be required to enter a captcha code. This is a series of distorted characters that you'll need to type in exactly as they appear on the screen.
  • Submit Your Request: Once you've entered the correct enrolment ID/SRN and captcha, click "Submit".

2. Using mAadhaar App

For a more convenient Aadhaar online status check, you can use the mAadhaar app:

  • Download the App: Obtain the mAadhaar app from either Google Play Store (for Android devices) or Apple App Store (for iOS devices).
  • Register Your Mobile Number: Once installed, open the app and register your mobile number. This is a necessary step to use the app's features.
  • Access "Check Aadhaar Status": Look for the option labelled "Check Aadhaar Status" within the app's menu.
  • Enter Enrollment Details: You'll be prompted to enter your enrolment ID and the date of enrolment. These details were provided to you when you submitted your Aadhaar application.
  • View Status: Tap "Check Status". The app will then process your request and display the current status of your Aadhaar card.

3. Via SMS

For those who prefer a simpler method, you can do an Aadhaar card check via SMS by doing this:

  • Compose a Message: Open your messaging app and create a new message.
  • Type the Message: In the message body, type "UID STATUS" followed by your 14-digit enrolment ID. Ensure there are no spaces between "UID STATUS" and your enrolment ID. For example, if your enrolment ID is 12345678901234, your message would look like this: "UID STATUS 12345678901234".
  • Send to 51969: Send the message to the number 51969. This is the dedicated number for checking Aadhaar card status via SMS.
