Add Spouse Name in Passport: Step-by-Step Guide

To add spouse name in passport, you need to apply for passport re-issuance. You can either submit the online form or the e-form.You can file your application through these simple steps:

Add Spouse Name in Passport: Online Form Submission

  • Step 1: Visit the Passport Seva Online Portal and click on ‘Register Now’.
  • Step 2 :  Once registered, log in to the online portal with the registered ID.
  • Step 3 : Click on ‘Re-issue of Passport’ and fill in the necessary details.
  • Step 4 : Go to ‘View Saved/Submitted Applications' and click on 'Pay and Schedule Appointment' to fix the appointment.

Note : For booking appointments at all PSK (Passport Seva Kendra)/POPSK (Post Office Passport Seva Kendra)/PO (Passport Office), online payment is mandatory. There are multiple options to choose from - credit/debit card, internet banking, and SBI bank challan.

  • Step 5 : Click ‘Print Application Receipt’. The receipt contains the Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.

Note : You will receive an SMS confirming your appointment. The SMS serves as proof of appointment, and you may not carry the printout of your Application Receipt during your visit to the PO.

  • Step 6: Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/Regional Passport Office (RPO) as per the appointment booked and make sure to carry your original documents.

Add Spouse Name in Passport: e-Form Submission

  • Step 1: Download the e-Form from the Passport Seva Online Portal. It is available at the ‘ Download e-Form’ option.
  • Step 2 : Fill in the form and click on the ‘Validate and Save’ button. This will generate an XML file that you need to upload to the online portal.
  • Step 3 : Select ‘Register Now’ on the Passport Seva Online Portal.
  • Step 4: After registering, log in using your credentials.
  • Step 5 : Click on ‘Upload e-Form’ and upload the XML file earlier generated.
  • Step 6 : Schedule an appointment using the 'Pay and Schedule Appointment' option under ‘View Saved/Submitted Applications'.

Note: Online payment is compulsory for booking appointments at all PSK/POPSK/PO. You can choose to pay using a credit/debit card, internet banking, or SBI bank challan.

  • Step 7 : Click ‘Print Application Receipt’ to know your Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number.

Note: You will receive an SMS confirming your appointment. It is accepted as proof of appointment and you may not carry the printout of your Application Receipt at the PO.

  • Step 8: Finally, visit the PSK/RPO on the appointment day at the scheduled time. Do carry your original documents.
