  • Transfer/School Leaving/Matriculation Certificate: You can submit the transfer/school leaving/matriculation certificate containing your date of birth. It should be issued by the school's last attended/recognized educational board.
  • PAN Card : The Income Tax Department issues the Permanent Account Number (PAN). The PAN card bears your PAN which is a unique ten-digit alphanumeric number. It also bears your date of birth.

  • Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar: Aadhaar is issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) . Just like PAN, your Aadhaar number is also unique, i.e. no two individuals can have the same number. It is a 12-digit number reflecting on your Aadhaar card/e-Aadhaar.Please note, the card should have your date of birth.

On the other hand, if you are a retired government servant, you can submit the Pay Pension Order.Please note, it should have your date of birth.   • Driving Licence: You can also submit your driving licence containing your date of birth. A driving licence is issued by the Transport Department of your state.
  • Election Photo Identity Card: The Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC), commonly known as the Voter ID card is issued by the Election Commission of India . You can submit an EPIC that shows your complete date of birth.
  • Policy Bond: The policy bond is issued by the Public Life Insurance Corporations/Companies. You can also submit the policy bond having your date of birth.

Applying Without a Birth Certificate for Passport

While it was earlier compulsory to submit a birth certificate for passport application, the Ministry of External Affairs introduced an amendment to simply the application process. As per these changes, you can now submit other valid documents as proof of your date of birth.
