- Increase in Stock Price on dividend declaration Companies try to roll out the quest of providing dividend stock/cash on a particular period. It starts with a dividend declaration, where it attracts an investor to throw up their money in buying stocks in the assurance of providing them profit either in term dividend stocks or dividend cash. As a result, the stock price of that company climbs up.
- Stock prices decrease ex-dividend declaration Stocks are purchased at a higher quantity for dividend by the investors during dividend declaration period. Ex-dividends people don’t try to hold their stocks and sell them immediately, by virtue of which stocks price may also decline sometime
- Ex-Dividend Price Companies reduce the total value of dividend yield from the total value of their share which was before dividend declaration, by which price of per share may fall for a day or two to ex-dividend.
To conclude Share prices are affected during ex-dividend declaration. Though the change in percentage of share price depends completely on the amount of dividend stocks/cash distributed as well as the size of the market and share price of the company initiating this activity.
