You can apply for passports online via the Passport Seva website run by the Ministry of External Affairs. You will have to visit Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) to complete the necessary biometrics after submitting your application. After completing your online application, you can select a convenient time and day for your appointment from the available slots.Making an appointment for your passport in-office interview is a required step in the application process. This is done at the end of the online application procedure, after you've submitted your form and paid your application fees.Additionally, appointment slots can be cancelled or rescheduled via the website. In these or other instances, cancelling or rescheduling your passport appointment is possible. However, rescheduling is available only three times in total. Thus, you can make an appointment once and then reschedule it twice more. Your application will be cancelled, and your fees will not be reimbursed if you exceed this limit. Given below are the steps on how to reschedule passport appointment online -

• Step 1 : Visit Passport Seva's official website.
• Step 2 : Log in to your registered account on the website.
• Step 3 : Click the "Reschedule Appointment" or “Cancel Appointment” button on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" tab.
• Step 4 : Select your passport office and click "Next".
• Step 5 : After examining the available appointment dates and times displayed on the chosen passport office, select the "Book Appointment" option. The appointment (if available) is scheduled, and the old one is automatically cancelled.
• Step 6 : The next page displays the appointment confirmation, along with the option to print the application receipt.
• Step 7 : Print your application receipt from this page.

Note : You can only cancel or reschedule your passport appointment twice per year. If you surpass this limit, you will need to create a new account, pay the appointment fees, and repeat the application procedure. Be aware that cancelling and rescheduling too frequently can lead to the authorities questioning the authenticity of your application.
