Tip: If you are reckless and tend to go overboard with things, try and curb your instincts. Know a few incidences of reckless behaviour that might result in claim rejection.
Don’t claim if delay in baggage receive doesn’t exceed 24 hoursSure, the likelihood of baggage loss or theft is one of the more crucial reasons behind purchasing a travel insurance policy in the first place. However, even the most comprehensive of policies from top insurers would have a time clause - more than 24 hours in most cases - attached to baggage loss in order for you to claim for damages successfully.
Should the airline carrier not be able to get to the bottom of things, even after 24 hours have passed, the insurer would be ready to act on your claim.
Tip: Simple. Wait it out for 24 hours and should inaction persist, report the matter to your insurer.
Besides the ones mentioned above, other notable exclusions include claims filed for damages that resulted from you participating in high-risk sports/activities, having travelled against government advice (in case of overseas travel), flouting traffic rules and the likes.
