The Aditya Birla Capital Foundation
In tandem with the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, the Aditya Birla Capital Foundation is involved in actively driving strategic community engagement endeavours across four key focus areas: healthcare, education, sustainable livelihoods and women’s empowerment, and sports. These efforts are closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and have positively impacted over 5.5 lakh lives till date and have helped Aditya Birla Capital win the National CSR Award (Government of India) for national priority area: Sports.
Healthcare
With multiple parallel projects, from pre-natal, post-natal and childcare to our Cancer Care Project which enables children with cancer to undergo chemotherapy and other treatment – Aditya Birla Capital identifies areas that need attention and do our best to effect real, on-ground impact. As of 2021 we have supported 1987 children afflicted with cancer, and have facilitated the safe administration of the HPV vaccine to 1715 girls, amongst other projects in the areas of congenital heart diseases, primary healthcare, and hospital infrastructure development.
To raise awareness surrounding mental health and eliminate associated taboo, a program has been launched in association with Public Health Centers (PHCs) and hospitals. This expansive initiative has reached 86,600 beneficiaries to date, encouraging them to come forward and take the counselling and psychiatric services offered within the program.
Education
Across the states of Odisha, UP, Bihar and in the NCR region, Aditya Birla Capital drives a range of initiatives for children with special needs and children from government schools. Enhancing and developing infrastructure across these schools as well as training facilitators and Anganwadi Sewikas, we have successfully sparked the desire to learn in 3625 children, and have benefitted 75,996 children through digital learning and development.
Sustainable Livelihoods & Women's Empowerment
In states like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, Aditya Birla Capital has successfully implemented water and soil conservation interventions, resulting in greater food sufficiency for the communities, accompanied by enhanced water efficiency. The project improved water harvesting capacity, afforestation and restored farm land of 3,272 Ha, also encouraged organic and water efficient agricultural practices.
In Karnataka, we have been equipping over 1143 women with knowledge about setting up micro-finance, aiding their independence and upliftment. A vocational training program equipped 1,645 youth with employable skills that will benefit them in uplift their careers.
Sports
Aditya Birla Capital has tied up with the Rahul Dravid Sports Mentorship Program to help build and develop sporting talent of national and international level prowess. With our support, so far 25 athletes have participated at top-level tournaments, with 6 in the programme going on to take part in the Tokyo Olympics.
