Sustainability at Aditya Birla Capital
At Aditya Birla Capital, we take our responsibility towards society and the environment seriously. Guided by the Aditya Birla Group’s ESG-led sustainability framework, we focus on inclusive development by addressing critical social challenges and creating long-term value for communities. Our initiatives are designed to minimise inequality, strengthen resilience and enable sustainable growth for stakeholders and society at large.

The Aditya Birla Capital Foundation
In tandem with the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, the Aditya Birla Capital Foundation leads Aditya Birla Capital’s social impact and community development initiatives. Our programmes are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and focus on inclusive growth across healthcare, education, sustainable livelihoods and women’s empowerment.

During FY 2024–25, our initiatives reached over 7.3 lakh beneficiaries, with 72% women beneficiaries, across 12 states in India, supported by 40 project implementing partners. The total CSR spend for the year stood at ₹65.51 crore.

Healthcare
Healthcare remains a core focus of our CSR initiatives. Our programmes span maternal and child healthcare, preventive healthcare, mental health, cancer care, primary healthcare and health infrastructure strengthening. During FY 2024–25, our healthcare interventions reached 4,44,221 beneficiaries, with 67% women beneficiaries. Key initiatives included maternal and child health services, mobile medical units, anaemia prevention programmes for adolescent girls, mental health counselling, cancer diagnostics and treatment support, and strengthening of primary health centres.

Education
Our education initiatives focus on improving access to quality education, particularly for girls, through infrastructure development, digital learning, scholarships and teacher capacity building.

In FY 2024–25, our education programmes reached 1,44,157 beneficiaries, with 66% girls beneficiaries. Interventions included strengthening Anganwadi centres, upgrading school infrastructure, mobile science labs to promote experiential learning, financial assistance for meritorious students and initiatives to bridge learning gaps in underserved communities.

Society


Sustainable Livelihoods & Women's Empowerment
We continue to implement sustainable livelihood programmes aimed at enhancing income generation, financial independence and resilience of rural communities, with a strong focus on women.

During FY 2024–25, our livelihood and women empowerment initiatives reached over 1.42 lakh beneficiaries across multiple states. These included capacity building of women-led self-help groups and farmer producer organisations, financial literacy and entrepreneurship programmes, vocational training, livestock-based livelihoods, natural resource management and support for women-led enterprises.
