Wellness has never been just a role for me. It’s personal, purposeful, and something I’ve dedicated my career to. When I joined Aditya Birla Wellness seven years ago, I found a place where my professional expertise and personal passion could come together in a meaningful way. As a sport science nutritionist by education, I had spent years working across fitness centres, health clubs, and nutrition clinics. While the work was rewarding, I was looking for an environment where wellness wasn’t treated as a trend, but as something that could genuinely improve people’s lives. That search eventually brought me to Aditya Birla Capital.
Over the years, my journey at ABC has allowed me to experience wellness from many different perspectives. From central operations and partnerships to client servicing, each role helped me understand the impact of wellness programmes can have on individuals and families. Those experiences eventually led to one of the most meaningful chapters of my career, helping extend ABC’s wellness programme to employees across the Aditya Birla Group.
I remember early conversations with teams across different businesses and locations. It quickly became clear that wellness could not be approached in the same way everywhere. The needs of a corporate employee working in an office were very different from those of someone working at a manufacturing site. What worked in one environment wouldn’t necessarily work in another. That realisation shaped our approach. We spent time listening, understanding different realities, and building programmes that felt relevant to people’s everyday lives. Whether it was digital solutions for corporate teams or more hands-on engagement at manufacturing locations, the focus was always on making wellness accessible and meaningful.
What makes me most proud is not just the scale of the programme, but the change it has helped create over time. We saw more employees prioritising physical activity, becoming more aware of their health, and taking small but meaningful steps towards healthier lifestyles. Many even began involving their families in their wellness journeys. The numbers certainly tell a positive story, a 33% increase in physical activity, a 10% improvement in overall health scores, and 75% of employees becoming more aware of their wellness. But for me, the stories behind those numbers matter even more. They represent people making better choices for themselves and their loved ones, one step at a time.
Looking back, this journey has shown me what can happen when purpose, collaboration, and care come together. Extending the wellness programme across the Aditya Birla Group has been more than a professional milestone. It has been an opportunity to contribute to something larger than myself, helping people lead healthier, fuller lives. To me, that is the true essence of Serve as One.
That’s what learning looks like when it moves in all directions. ABC’s culture encourages curiosity, accountability, and continuous development across levels and generations. It has not only shaped my career, it has shaped the way I think, lead, and grow. And that, to me, is the true power of an enabling learning culture.
