Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Limited
When I joined Aditya Birla Capital in 2017 as a Management Trainee, I thought I was stepping into a job. What I truly entered was a culture of continuous learning, where every conversation could be a lesson, every challenge a case study, and every colleague a co-learner.
From the very beginning, the organisation encouraged breadth of exposure. Through structured talent movement programmes,  I moved from talent management to sales HR, across life insurance and lending, through different functions and geographies. Each transition reshaped not only how I approached my role, but how I saw my own potential.

At some point, I stopped thinking of my path as a career ladder. It became a learning loop, one that encouraged learning, adapting, and leaning into collaboration.
A defining chapter began when I moved from a corporate role into a frontline sales HR role just before the lockdown. It was a new geography, a field-facing role, and a mandate tied directly to business impact. There were no playbooks to follow, only trust from my mentors, from my peers, and eventually, from myself. Leadership programmes and mentorship have played a defining role in this journey. At every inflection point, I’ve had leaders and mentors who invested time in my development, challenged my thinking, and trusted me with responsibility.
As a first-time people manager, I discovered more about influence, empathy, and accountability from my team than from any leadership manual. In our multi-generational workplace, I’m continuously inspired by Gen Z talent, their clarity, self-awareness, and fearless questioning. They’ve taught me that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking the right questions and creating space for others to lead.
That’s what learning looks like when it moves in all directions. ABC’s culture encourages curiosity, accountability, and continuous development across levels and generations. It has not only shaped my career, it has shaped the way I think, lead, and grow. And that, to me, is the true power of an enabling learning culture.
