Acute Gastroenteritis: Stay Safe With These Quick Tips

The monsoon may bring relief from summer with cool showers, but also increases the risk of infections. Stagnant water, poor sanitation, and food contamination during this season can trigger illnesses like Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE)—a stomach infection caused by consuming unsafe food or water.

Common symptoms include:

  • Diarrhea (watery or loose stools)
  • Vomiting and nausea
  • Stomach cramps
  • Mild fever (99°F to 101°F)
  • Signs of dehydration, like dry mouth, dizziness, or low urine output

AGE can lead to severe dehydration and weakness, making timely care crucial—especially for children and older adults.

We have observed a recent spike in AGE cases in your area.

If you or a family member is experiencing any of these symptoms, please contact our ABHI’s SOS helpline number; we’re just a call away! Tap to Call Us: +0 (731) 485-0174
