Job Purpose

To develop, implement and testing of a Business Continuity Management framework at BSLI to ensure the recovery of its mission critical activities at agreed level within agreed timeframe in the event of any crisis/disaster impacting its Normal Operation.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Job Context: To develop, implement and testing of a Business Continuity Management framework at BSLI to ensure the recovery of its mission critical activities at agreed level within agreed timeframe in the event of any crisis/disaster impacting its Normal Operation.



Job Challenges: • The external events that can disrupt business have increased in frequency nature and magnitude. It is important for the organisation to have a planned approach to manage such challenges but practically impossible.

• The customer expectation of deliverables has increased multi fold. The organisation cannot afford any fallout in services under any circumstances. This may expose the organisation at reputational risk. Building a BCP plan to support organisation in all such circumstances is not costly but also very difficult.

• Organization wide preparedness on BCP in times of Rapid expansion of business and new products and services being launched

• Given the geographical span covering more than 600 branches in 500+ cities, with some very high risk branches, making people aware of their roles & responsibilities during any contingency

• Ensuring proper awareness & buy-in from other Functions on the agreed plan, identified Corrective & Preventive Action plans is a challenge due changing work environment, a basic human nature and difficulties it poses in your day to day work.

KRA1Develop function level BCP plan1. Develop BCP plan for each function, carry out testing & monitor results

2. Conduct table top exercise to update BCP plan for different
KRA2Ensure a high degree of preparedness on BCP across all functions1. Review BCP plans in place periodically

2. Release reports to Function Heads on various BCP related Testing undertaken

3. Analyse BCP Risk assessments

4. Conduct periodic team meetings to assess the practical viability of BCP related plans
KRA3Ensure timely resolution of all identified Preventive & Corrective Action Plan1. Review the actionable periodically

2. Highlight the ageing summary to Senior Management personals

3. Highlight the Risk perceived & consequences in case the identified risk materialize
KRA4Facilitate in embedding Business Continuity Planning in the Organization’s culture1. Conduct Risk Workshops across HO & Zonal Offices

2. Conduct an Intensive BCP workshop for ERT & IFRT Team Leaders across HO & Zonal Offices

3. Send regular communication to Employees on basics of BCP

4. Drive Risk Awareness Quiz across HO & all branches
KRA5Develop system for managing the BCP requirement1. Build & maintain the system for BCP. Ensure the BCP plan for the organisation is updated on the system.
KRA6Ensure compliance to activities mentioned in BCP Calendar2. Monitor the activities planned during Risk team Meetings periodically

3. Conduct regular status update meetings to track the progress on all activities planned
KRA7Ensure Green Rating in Scorecard & BCP Audits1. Ensure 100% compliance to BCP Calendar

2. Conduct quarterly review of Internal BCP Scorecard

3. Maintain monthly MIS on BCP shared with Senior Management
KRA8Timely report to the BCP Committee to update them on BCP compliance.1. Collate necessary data from the functions

2. Update and Report the Readiness Scorecard to the BCP Committee
