Job Purpose :
The Strategy Team Lead is responsible for driving the strategic agenda, business planning, performance management, and transformation initiatives for the Bancassurance channel. The role will serve as a strategic partner to the Channel Head and senior bank stakeholders to drive profitable growth, strengthen distribution effectiveness, and create sustainable competitive advantage in an Open Architecture environment. The incumbent will be responsible for developing channel growth strategies, managing business planning and budgeting, driving sales productivity and analytics, strengthening channel economics, and identifying new business opportunities. The role requires a deep understanding of banking business models, customer segments, Bancassurance distribution dynamics, sales management practices, and life insurance market trends.
Accountabilities
Sales Management & Development | 1. Evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, regulatory developments, and emerging industry practices to recommend strategic interventions. 2. To lead development of performance management systems for channel including incentives, KPIs and career progression models 3. Initiate and implement corrective action basis various underlying trends of the MIS. 4. To continuously review Sales processes and improvise them basis evolving business needs. 5. Partner with Leadership to define medium and long-term growth strategies. |
Prepare, monitor & control channel budgets and define business targets | 1. Co-Own P&L for the channel along with channel head and ensure course corrections and risk mitigations strategies are implemented in a timely manner. 2. Lead the annual operating plan, budgeting, forecasting, and business target-setting exercise for the channel. 3. Develop business projections through analysis of customer base, relationship value, customer vintage, resource deployment, geographic spread, productivity trends, and market opportunities. 4. Conduct Impact Analysis of existing & new initiatives on the budget & creating provisions for the same. Discuss & prioritize items on budget basis discussion with sales leadership/sales vertical heads. 5. Finalization of the Budget taking into account trends, existing or potential challenges and opportunities in coordination with the sales leadership. 6. Analysis of data basis past trends, market /regulatory conditions on various business parameters and benchmark competition performance basis locations/vintage/FLS behaviour/market condition to arrive at business targets. 7. Lead Finalization of the KPIs for all roles in Bancassurance across country with the help of Sales & Strategy leadership. 8. Track financial performance in real-time and lead senior leadership discussions on variances and corrective levers. Drive periodic business reviews with senior leadership and ensure effective governance of strategic priorities. 9. Monitor compensation pay-outs every month to track influence on following parameters: a. Retention b. Productivity c. Earning potential 9. Ensure the compensation and career progression is such which has long lasting impact on the field force and acts as a retention tool |
Relationship Management | 1. Serve as a strategic partner to senior bank leadership; align bank priorities with BSLI's insurance distribution objectives. 2. Create Quality benchmarks of performance so that bank values the BSLI way of working |
Sales Automation | 1. Evaluating ongoing processes & various tools, portals, communication triggers for sales team support. 2. Lead automation and digital transformation initiatives to enhance channel efficiency and user experience. 3. Collaborate with technology and cross-functional teams to implement scalable sales enablement solutions. |
Team Management | 1. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing strategy and business planning team. 2. Optimize team structure and resource allocation to support evolving business needs. |
